News Headlines

January 2010

Welcome to 2010, and thank you again for your continued support.  Man, being a Dad takes alot out of your artlife.  Don't get me wrong, it's the best thing I've ever done.  Here's to hoping I can get just a little bit back in the groove this year.

But in the past year I was inlcuded in a Documentary Film that is in the
Tampa History Museum which discusses the History of Art in Tampa.  I have been doing more and more photoshoots.  I've begun shooting freelance work for two local magazines..South Tampa Magazine and Blu Tampa Bay.  My photos are included in the Winter 2010 edition of Blu available all over Tampa Bay now.  Other projects developing but too soon to talk about.

I have added many new images of recent photoshoots.  Look under
Color Field Photografia for those images.  I'm always working on something.  More to come...

I recently did a photoshoot for friends of mine a week before they became parents. We took almost 300 shots and these are
just a few of them.  They came out great and everyone was happy.  A week later everyone was even happier as a healthy baby boy was born.  Congratulations!

The Expose Banner Exhibition has gone up.  My painting "Winter Bacon" was included in this years display.  It is reproduced 4 times along Boy Scout Road.  The most visible being at the corners of Westshore/Boy Scout Rd and International Drive/Boy Scout Rd.  The display will be up through the month of May.  Thank you Westshore Alliance for again supporting local artists.

I recently did some mural work for a local establishment.  Thank you Julie for involving me.

My painting "Winter Bacon" will be reproduced on a banner and displayed in this years Expose Exhibition.  This public art display will be on view along Boy Scout Boulevard starting early May.  Soon after it will be on display in Westshore Mall with a possible exhibition inside TIA.  More as it progresses...

Apparently the Berlin Wall Exhibition is on hiatus due to some legal matters concerning, well...legal matters.  I hope it will be resolved.  There are alot of really nice works.  More as this progresses as well...

Thank you all for your support.

December 2008

In October, I was featured in the Oct/Nov issue of South Tampa magazine.  Thank you Gabriel and Erika and the staff of STM for making that possible.  I have gotten great responses since being featured in their magazine.

In December, I completed a holiday themed Chalk Mural in Hyde Park Village.  Thank you Jennifer Lareau and all involved.  I had a great time and all the onlookers seemed to be really excited to see this type of event going on.

Last week, I did 2 photo shoots.  One with artist Elio Lopez while he was working on a mural, the other with a prominent Tampa family.  View the photos under
Artwork.  Thank you everyone for your continued support.  Happy Holidays!

I'm showing new work in an exhibition with the Outdoor Arts Foundation involving sections of the Berlin Wall.  Selected artists created images on sections of the wall for both a local and national exhibition.  Please visit the Outdoor Arts Foundation
web page for more information.  My photos of the finished pieces are also on this page.  Thank you Jay Goulde for involving me.

I'm featured this month on The Mayor's Hour with other artists from the W. Tampa Center for the Arts.  It will air all month long on local channels.  Thank you Maida  Milan.

The mural "Cats Underwater" is still on display downtown.  Corner of Cass and Franklin.  Take a picture in front of it.  Send it to me, I'll post it. No, really...I will.

Other projects in the works but too soon to start posting about them.  Thank you everyone for your continued support.

March 2008

Since becoming a first time daddy in December, my time for painting has been limited.  But I have found time for a few exhibitions.  I was able to participate in one of the final exhibitions at the Tampa Museum of Art, as well as this past years Gala Corina.  I happily donated a painting to my friend Howard Baskin at The Big Cat Rescue for their annual "Fur Ball".  I have had a few nice photo sessions with clients, most notably a beautiful pregnant women who gave birth 3 weeks after our shoot.  I was an extra in an HBO film called "Recount", which was filmed in Jacksonville and stars Kevin Spacey and Laura Dern.  I did some beautiful mural work for a child's bedroom here in Tampa.  And most recently I completed a mural project with Elio Lopez and Jeff Jacoby that went up in downtown Tampa.  It measures 8' x 36' feet and should be up for about 6 months.  Thank you Abbey for getting that ball rolling.

I have curated and am exhibiting my work in an exhibition entitled Art A-Z, A Collective of Tampa's Best at Tampa International Airport.  The exhibiton has just gone up and will be on display for the next 6 to 9 months in Airside A of TIA.  Keep in mind if you plan to visit the airport that Airside A can only be reached if you are flying one of the connecting airlines due to security precautions.

Thanks to TIA and Kelly Figley for allowing me a great opportunity to showcase my work and the work of local artists.  Thank you Donald Butler, Elio Lopez, Trinity Rivard and Jeff Jacoby for delivering some truly great work.

Well, this year has so far been an interesting one.  And let me add to that something I've done not necessarily to promote my art, but to fund it.  I filmed a bit in a Checkers commercial last month.  And it has just begun airing.  It is being played on all the major channels.  You gotta do what you gotta do....I guess you gotta eat!
